When The Miracle Becomes an Expectation..

I was at the Anthony Robbins success workshop in Singapore and I'd like to share a story he told us.

A while back Anthony was on a flight from the U.S. to Australia and there was an announcement on board, Wifi was now available on the flight!!! There was applause and much excitement... It was a miracle. 20 minutes later the wifi stopped working and his fellow passengers were really annoyed. What 20 minutes earlier was considered a miracle had now become an expectation!

This story really resonated with me. It got me thinking about all the miracles in my life that had now become an expectation. I realized when I was younger I celebrated all the little miracles in my life. But as I got older, the more I got the more I expected. In Anthony's words, "gratitude is the antidote to anger and fear".

Acknowledging the good that we have in our life is really the foundation of abundance. If we are not thankful for what we already have we cannot be thankful for what we will get. If we are thankful for what we have; we will end up having more. If we concentrate on what we don't have, we will never have enough.

So today I encourage each one of you to do a gratitude walk. As you walk bring to mind all the things in your life you are grateful for and when you are done, loop it again and again till you complete your walk. Notice what the feeling of being grateful brings to your life.

"Just an observation: it is impossible to be both grateful and depressed. Those with a grateful mindset tend to see the message in the mess. And even though life may knock them down, the grateful find reasons, if even small ones, to get up.
